Ela Mukherjee is a ceramic artist based in Delhi, with nearly three decades of experience working with clay. Originally trained in English literature with a Master’s degree from the University of Calcutta, her journey into ceramics evolved gradually, eventually becoming her primary artistic practice.

She has been exhibiting her work professionally since 2000, both in India and internationally. Her artistic journey has been enriched through prestigious opportunities, including a Fulbright Scholarship in the United States and the Charles Wallace India Trust Scholarship in the United Kingdom, where she further explored ceramic art.

Ela has participated in numerous national and international artist residencies and has been recognised with both the Junior and Senior Fellowships from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, along with the prestigious Jyotsna Bhatt ceramic award.

Working from her studio in Delhi, she continues to actively contribute to the field, not only through her practice but also by teaching as a visiting faculty at various art and design institutions.
