Echoes of Shared Threads – Ceramic Bust Installation
Echoes of Shared Threads is a large-scale ceramic wall installation that reflects on human connection, memory, and shared identity. Comprising nearly 150 handcrafted busts, the work celebrates the many people the artist has encountered over the past thirty years—across continents, cultures, and contexts.
Each relationship, whether deep or fleeting, has contributed to shaping both artistic sensibilities and personal growth. The installation becomes a visual map of these connections, where the busts act like pins across a world map. Through visual engagement, the viewer is invited to “weave” these points together—forming an invisible network of shared experiences.
The surface drawings on each bust are inspired by biological representations of human cells, suggesting the fundamental similarities that unite us all. While each bust carries subtle variations, at their core they remain alike—echoing the shared essence of humanity.
The layout is flexible and can be adapted to different spaces, allowing the installation to evolve while retaining its conceptual integrity.
