Mitti Tales
Ishhita is a practicing psychotherapist whose engagement with clay began as a search for grounding and presence. Over time, the practice evolved into a quiet form of inquiry into self, material, and process. Clay, for her, is both a teacher and a mirror as it demands patience, attentiveness, and an openness to imperfection. The process of centering, shaping, collapsing, and beginning again echoes the cycles of growth and renewal she witnesses in her therapeutic work.
Living with her two dogs has deepened her connection to the natural and the spontaneous. Their uncomplicated joy and constant attunement to the moment echo what she seeks at the wheel—to meet each lump of clay with openness, curiosity, and care.
Her pottery often carries traces of touch and texture, embracing irregularities as part of its expression. Each piece emerges from a dialogue between control and surrender, reflecting the fluid movement between holding on and letting go. Ishhita’s work is less about producing perfect forms and more about cultivating presence—meeting the material with curiosity and honesty.
Through clay, she continues to explore how clay can become a meditative practice and a space for reflection, introspection and stillness.
